If you’re new to urban sketching, frustrated by your current results, or lack the confidence to get started, this Urban Sketching for Beginner's Workshop has been designed for you.
Our instructor, Kanchan, will teach you the basics of watercolour painting and sketching. You will learn about one-point and two-point perspectives, Identifying Horizon Lines, and simple watercolour techniques.

Introduction to Urban Sketching (2 Sessions)
Session 1: Indoor session at Artify Studio
1. Understanding Perspective: Explore the various types of perspective, such as linear and atmospheric perspective.
2. Horizon Line and Vanishing Points: Define the concepts of the horizon line and vanishing points.
3. Identifying Elements in Photographs: Learn how to spot the horizon line and vanishing points within photographs.
4. Practical Activity: Present 4 to 5 images and guide participants in identifying the vanishing points and horizon lines.
5. One-Point Perspective: Discuss the characteristics and drawing techniques of one-point perspective, accompanied by examples.
6. Two-Point Perspective: Explain the features and drawing methods of two-point perspective, supported by illustrative examples.
7. Sketching Practice: Create a quick pencil sketch of a shophouse utilizing a two-point perspective.
8. Painting Techniques for Plein Air: Review various painting techniques, including washes, variegated washes, and the dry brush technique.
